Our first blog post. Ever.
And all I can think about is how we have no up-to-date family photo! Please hold while I add that to my “to-do” list.
I’ll start off by saying that I’m not a writer, nor is anyone else in my household, therefore grammatical errors should be expected. If it bothers anyone enough, you are more then welcome to correct us, and I’ll be sure to use it as a homeschool lesson. 😉
Though I may not be a writer, I am a mom – a supermom to be exact. My husband and I have five kids ranging in age from 3 months to 12 years old. Four of those kids are boys, so you can imagine the shenanigans that go on in our daily lives! When we’re not homeschooling, folding endless laundry, filling hungry stomachs, participating in extracurricular activities, and reading bedtime stories, we love to travel and explore our beautiful state. Add in the demands of a special needs child and you can probably imagine how busy our lives are!
Like I already stated above, I’m not a writer, but I do love to record our memories so our children can look back and re-live the joys, accomplishments, and milestones of their lives. I personally prefer picture albums and handwritten journals, but considering my journals have been sitting untouched and albums take time to keep up with, I don’t think recording handwritten memories is an achievable goal right now, even for a supermom. One thing I can do is upload a photo with the swipe of a button. Add some commentary and BOOM! – a memory is created!
Besides creating memories for ourselves, we wanted to start this journal to be an encouragement and source of motivation for other families. Whether you’re curious about homeschooling or a seasoned homeschool veteran, looking for the best places to visit in Florida, struggling with an ADHD child, like taking a peek into how other families live, or simply looking for some entertainment from a perfect, NOT-so-perfect family, then look no farther. For those who don’t personally know our story, maybe over time you’ll be able to put the pieces together and figure out how a family of two quickly became a family of six. Now a family of seven (14 if you include all the pets), with plenty of room to grow. 😉
A final note to my children: I love spending everyday with you, and am so thankful for each one of you. I know how much you love to look through old photos on my phone, and can’t wait for you to look back on our family journal here! Enjoy reading our posts, laughing at and with each other, learning, growing, and remember to never ever stop exploring and don’t let your curiosity die. I will thoroughly enjoy watching you make the memories that we’ll share on this page together.
