A Blessing in Disguise

Have you ever been given life-changing news?  Something upsetting?  Something that would threaten to change your entire lifestyle?

2 weeks ago it happened to Marcus.  He was devastated.  We were in shock.  But today as I reflect, I see how this was actually a blessing in disguise.

Koreshan State Historic Site – a former cult compound

Today we visited Koreshan State Historic Site in Estero, Florida.  It was beautiful, scenic, educational, slightly eerie, possibly haunted, and left us scratching our heads over the cult-ish religious beliefs of the people that once inhabited that land.

Carrot Cake Cookies

Let me be clear about something – I hate cooking, but I do enjoy baking.  Do you know what makes baking even more fun? When your kids join in!  Today Christian joined me, or actually I joined him….assisted him….OK, I admit it – I just watched.  Since Easter is tomorrow, we decided to bake carrot cake cookies to go with the festivities.
